Sophie and I are eating lots of baked beans and all in the name of crafting! I decided to use some of my beloved basic grey papers on a craft project that I could keep for myself, so, inspired by an earlier edition of the Docrafts mag, Creativity i decided to decorate a tin in the sugared collection. This is possibly the simplest craft project ever as all you do is choose your papers, cut them to desired size and stick to the tin with double sided tape.
TOP TIP: put the tape straight onto the tin, then rub over the tape with some pritt stick. This puts a layer of grease on to the tape which allows for some move ability when placing your papers but drys to normal permanent state within ten minutes!!!
I have then used a new product from Docrafts, the Cropodile II, 'The Big Bite' - this is a silent way of punching and setting eyelets through hundreds of different materials, it went through this tin and a CD almost as easily as it does through paper! The great advantage of this particular product is that it has a long reach so i was able to punch a second row of holes, that instead of setting with eyelets, I weaved through some ribbon and attached one of the embellishments from the Basic grey Chip boards.
The finished product is a fabulous storage holders for my tools and gadgets!
Sophie was desperate to have a go at decorating her own tin so chose the new range of Fantasy papers from trimcraft, she chose the 12 x 12 papers and some black fibre. Sophie then chose one of the adhesive shaker embellishments from the same range, added a little extra double sided tape to make sure that it stuck securely and hey presto! storage for her craft pens in less than 15 minutes!
